While we love our botanical extracts (after all, our products are rooted in nature), all of our serums use effective active ingredients proven to work. For signs of aging - Bioactive 1% Retinol and Bioactive 2.5% Retinol serum

What's in it?

Retinol is the be all and end all of the skincare ingredients. It sustains collagen, improves skin texture and minimises the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also treats acne, fades hyperpigmentation and photodamage.

Ishtar's Retinol serums use Rovisome technology to encapsulate retinol in a biocompatible natural membrane. That ensures the retinol molecule retains its potency and reaches into deeper layers of the skin. Our Bioactive 1% Retinol serum is roughly the equivalent of 0.2% commercial retinol product. On the other hand, our Bioactive 2.5% serum is the equivalent of 0.5% commercial retinol product. Prickly Pear extract is rich in polysaccharides, which hydrate and soothe the skin. Spilanthes Acmella (Gatuline) Extract has a firming effect on the skin. Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans are natural polysaccharides that hydrate the skin and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

For acne and photodamage - Ultralase 10 and Ultralase 15

What's in it?

Mandelic acid is an Alpha-Hydroxy acid derived from bitter almonds. Due to its unique properties, it is used to treat acne, photodamage, and melasma. It is less irritating than Glycolic acid and can safely be used on darker skin tones. You can take your pick between Ultralase 10 and Ultralase 15 which have 10% and 15% Mandelic acid respectively. If you never tried Mandelic acid before, we also offer Ultralase 10 trial size.

Mandelic acid exfoliates, improves skin texture, treats acne and blemish prone skin, fades hyperpigmentation. Our Ultralase serums contain natural prebiotics and hydrating polysaccharides to leave your skin soothed and hydrated.

Who is it for?

Our Ultralase 10 serum is suitable for most skin types. It is suitable for anyone who wants to improve the texture of their skin and treat acne and blemishes. Ultralase 15 is more suitable for stubborn acne and hyperkeratinisation.

For hyperpigmentation - Brighten Up Pigment Correcting Fluid

What's in it?

Our Brighten Up Pigment Correcting Fluid combines Chromabright with 4% Niacinamide. Chromabright is a patented active proven to treat hyperpigmentation without any of the sensitising issues associated with hydroquinone. Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 and it helps prevent breakouts, regulates oil production and prevents signs of aging. Bisabolol is a phytochemical with anti-inflammatory properties. Green Tea extract reduces oxidative stress, while Beta Glucan soothes, hydrates and calms the skin.

Who is it for?

All skin types prone to hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone.

For an antioxidant boost - Perfect and Glow Vitamin C serum

What's in it?

Our Perfect and Glow uses Rovisome technology to encapsulate vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate) in skin-identical lipids. Vitamin C is then delivered into the deeper layers of the epidermis. The formula also combines Peptide P3 (a non-acidic alternative to skin resurfacing) to smooth out the skin's surface, improve hydration and minimise fine lines and wrinkles. SOD (Superoxide Dismutase) is an antioxidant that reduces oxidative damage, soothes and conditions the skin. Silver Vine extract improves skin translucency and the skin appears brighter as a result.

For dehydration - Hydro-Magic Collagen Catalyst

What's in it?

Tripeptide-5 (Syncoll™) is a peptide with clinical trials that show it significantly reduces wrinkle depth. It increases collagen by stimulating Tissue Growth Factor, an essential factor in the collagen synthesis. Natural Moisturising Factors (NMF) with Beta Glucan replenish the skin's moisture levels.

All skin types, especially if you are prone to dehydration.

For barrier repair - Skinbiotica Daily Defence

What's in it?

Arabinogalactan & a-glucan Oligosaccharide are natural prebiotics that promote a healthy skin pH and protect the skin from the effects of environmental stress. They also promote good bacteria and discourage bad bacteria. Rosmarinyl Glucoside (and) Caffeyl Glucoside (and) Gallyl Glucoside is a complex of botanical isolates that reduces inflammatory cytokines (associated with skin redness and rosacea). Epilobium Angustifolium Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract (also known as Canadian Rose Bay Willowherb) has an anti-inflammatory effect on the skin, reduces redness and soothes irritation. Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans are natural polysaccharides that hydrate and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

For gentle exfoliation - Trizyme Pore Refining Treatment

What's in it?

Botanical enzymes that include Papaya, Pumpkin and Pomegranate enzymes. Papaya enzymes increase cell renewal and soothe the skin. Pumpkin enzymes also increase cell renewal without being sensitising on the skin. Pomegranate enzymes scavenge dead skin cells. 1% Beta Hydroxy acid in the form of Aspen Bark extract to clarify the pores and soothe inflammation.
